SAWABONA AFRICA E.V

Every child deserves a chance to have a bright future.

Support Education. Deliver Hope.

Give a child a future they can build for themselves.

We are a small German charity funding education and skills development through five partner projects in under-resourced communities across Lesotho and South Africa, so that children can learn, and young people can earn.

Our running costs are covered seperatley by membership fees and administration donations

HAPPENING NOW

Five years of Sawabona Africa, on film.

This short film shows what five years of Sawabona Africa actually looks like: the classrooms, the camps, and the children behind every number on this page. In a few minutes, it will tell you more about our work than any page of text could.

Moments from the ground

The Faces Behind Every Donation

Classrooms, camps, first days, and milestone mornings, photographed at our five partner projects in Lesotho and South Africa.

Transparency & connection

We Know Exactly Where Every Donation Goes

We never send money into the unknown. Every partner is an organisation we know personally, have sat down with, and visit where they work, and we report back on what your donation made possible.

Getting to know each other

A real relationship first, with the people running the project, in their own community.

Visiting in person

We go there. We sit in the classrooms and meet the children and the team.

Screening and assessment

We look closely at how the project is run before we commit to it.

Agreeing together

We agree exactly what the funding is for, and what will be reported back.

Staying connected

The relationship continues long after the transfer, which is how we can answer for
it.

We know exactly where each donation goes, no matter the size.

Every donation goes to a real project, and we can tell you which one.

Zilla Visiting Impande

Seeing our projects first hand

When I visit our partner charities, all in under resourced communities of South Africa, I often see makeshift structures where children and teachers show up — driven by an eagerness to teach and learn.

Every child deserves a safe place to learn and flourish.

Every teacher deserves a dignified place to teach.

With your support, we make that possible.

— Zilla Stekhoven, Founder.
